“At its core, engineering is problem-solving. I like working with a team of people to not only solve a problem, but to understand how and why the problem arose in the first place. This prevents future issues and makes life much easier for our clients.”

  1. Influences

“I probably knew I was going to be an engineer by the time I was 13. I used to get Erector Sets and Legos when I was a kid, and I’ve really followed in my dad’s footsteps. Engineering is often a family thing, and the Dunham culture is about family. We care about people’s families, being able to take time off. It’s a place where you’re encouraged to ask questions, where you don’t have to know all the answers. I enjoy working here because I’m always learning.”

  2. Culture

“Dunham has kept a small firm culture even as we’ve grown. And it’s very collaborative. You can feel comfortable asking questions to anybody at any level. You present your job in front of a group and we collaborate, pick it apart, make it better, like a workshop. You receive mentoring in many ways, formal and informal. You can go out with someone and talk about everything from work-life balance to ‘hey, I have an issue on a project, how should I handle it?’”

  1. Challenges

“Here, you get to touch the premier projects—not only in size, but in challenge. At its core, engineering is problem-solving. I like working with a team of people to not only solve the problem, but to understand how and why the problem arose in the first place. This prevents future issues and makes life much easier for our clients. I’m also passionate about working with clients existing systems and optimizing their efficiency.”

  2. People

“We look for good people and give them the right tools. We want strong, good communicators, who are excited and want to learn. We can teach most of the hard skills, but what we value most are people with a service mentality, who have integrity.”
