Dunham Names Nicolas J. Igl Partner

Nic Igl, a mechanical engineer and LEED accredited professional, has been named Partner. Nic has been with Dunham since 1999 and has worked incredibly hard to establish himself as not only an effective engineer and project manager, but as a well-respected leader in the firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and leads the education business unit for Dunham.

Dunham Adds New Associates + Senior Associates

Dunham Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce the results of our recent election. These changes are effective April 1, 2016. 

Dunham elected the following  new Associates: Kyle Benton, Greg Haik, Chris Jenkins, Cullen Murtaugh, Tim Culbertson, Chad Gillette, and Troy Rolph from our Minneapolis office, as well as Robert Gelle, Blythe Waldemar, Brian Hain, and Dustin Mueller from our Rochester office.

Additionally, eight Senior Associates have been elected. They are: Joshua Kam, Brad Kettunen, Michael Morris, Kimberly Pierson, Bryan Schmidt, Kurt Then, and Justin Thiner from our Minneapolis office, and Steven Harmon from our Rochester office.

RC Hospital and Clinics Opens

The Dunham team worked with Pope Architects to provide mechanical and electrical engineering services for this project, which owns a Critical Access Hospital designation and stands as a model of modern healthcare in a rural setting. Located along Highway 212 on the eastern edge of Olivia, the building features 16 private patient rooms, obstetric suites, 18 examination rooms, multiple surgical suites and a state-of-the-art MRI and CT scan equipment.

Dunham Participates in Hearts and Hammers Project

Dunham partnered with D.J. Kranz Co, Walker Associates, Vincent W. King P.A., BWBR Architects and Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors to help a Minneapolis family in need, including providing landscaping, tree trimming and home exterior painting services. Our employees proudly participate in this program each year as a way of giving back to the community and promoting team-building.

Three Dunham Projects Win NAIOP Awards of Excellence

  • Mayo Clinic Square has won the NAIOP Award of Excellence in the Repositioned/Renovated Category.
  • Olympus Surgical Technologies has won the NAIOP Award of Excellence in the Industrial Build-to-Suit Category.
  • Washburn Center for Children has won the NAIOP Award of Excellence in the Special Purpose Category.

The NAIOP Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional developments and projects that were completed by NAIOP Members. NAIOP is a commercial real estate development association for developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate. They have 15,000 members in North America and are advocates for commercial real estate development and effective public policy.

Dunham Is Proud to Announce that LifeSource Has Been Recognized by Finance & Commerce as a Top Project of 2014

Every year, Finance & Commerce awards Minnesota’s top construction projects. And this year, it selected the LifeSource headquarters project as a Top Project. Dunham designed the mechanical and electrical systems for the company’s new River Road headquarters northwest of downtown Minneapolis—a new 50,000 SF facility that houses 125 corporate staff members; features a large lobby, conference rooms, break rooms, quiet rooms and kitchenettes, as well as outdoor spaces to work and relax; and includes a large operating room, morgue, recovery and storage space. A signature piece of the headquarters is the LifeSource Healing Garden, which offers beautiful views of the Mississippi River and gives families and employees a place to reflect and remember.

Dunham Expands Rochester Presence

Dunham today announced the addition of five engineering and design professionals to our Rochester, MN office. New team members Robert Gelle, Brian Hain, Dustin Mueller, Carl Olson and Blyth Waldemar bring extensive engineering experience to the region.

Minnesota Construction Association, Award of Excellence: SCSU Shoemaker Hall East and West Renovation

On January 29, the Minnesota Construction Association held its annual Awards of Excellence Dinner and Gala and presented its award for Top Government Construction Project to St. Cloud State University’s Shoemaker Hall East & West Renovation Project. Dunham worked with Terra General Contractors, LLC, and ESG Architects to complete this significant project—a 70,000 SF renovation of two existing residence halls connected by a 5,000 SF commons area. Specifically, our team designed the upgrades to lighting, fire alarm system and HVAC systems serving the facility.

Dunham Elects Three New Partners

Dunham is proud to announce the addition of partners Darin May, Tom Lind and Mark Azure

Mark Azure joined Dunham in 1998 and is a Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University. Mark’s experience designing lighting, power and low voltage systems has been focused on the design and master planning of hospitals, clinics and medical office buildings.

Tom Lind has been with Dunham since 2003 and is a Professional Engineering and LEED Accredited Professional. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. Tom’s experience focuses on the design of complex HVAC systems serving laboratories, manufacturing, clean rooms, performing arts and higher education facilities.

Darin May started at Dunham in 1999 and is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional, as well as a Registered Fire Protection Engineer. Darin holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Darin’s experience focuses on the design and master planning of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for healthcare, educational and commercial facilities.

Regions Hospital, Mental Health Building Wins Minneapolis/St. Paul IFMA Exceptional New Building Award

On February 12, the International Facility Management Association’s local chapter held its Annual Celebration event at TCF Bank Stadium and announced that The Regions Hospital Mental Health Building received its Exceptional New Building award. Dunham worked with BWBR Architects, Kraus Anderson and Hunt Electric to deliver this award-winning project, and we’re proud to continue providing engineering services to Regions Hospital.

Minnesota Construction Association Award of Excellence Goes to HealthPartners Riverway Clinic in Anoka, MN

The Minnesota Construction Association announced at its annual Awards of Excellence Dinner and Gala that the HealthPartners Riverway Clinic project took home the award for the top New Construction Project, $10 Million plus category. Dunham teamed with BWBR Architects to complete this project—a new 60,000 SF primary and specialty care clinic featuring a digestive center, laboratory, radiology department, urgent care and pharmacy. In addition to mechanical and electrical planning and design services, Dunham’s team performed energy modeling services for this project, which was designed utilizing lead design and evidence-based design principals.
