Ongoing Engineering Partnership
For over 25 years, Dunham has been a preferred engineering consultant for Allina’s Abbott Northwestern Hospital-Minnesota’s largest hospital. The 627‑bed teaching and specialty hospital serves more than 200,000 patients and their families each year. Dunham has a dedicated team of engineers and designers who remain committed to this campus and have completed over 350 projects throughout their various buildings. These projects include campus master plans, a chiller plant, vertical expansions, new construction, and various remodels, space relocations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Transportation Hub
To provide a central hub that interfaces multiple forms of transportation for the public, patients, and staff, Abbott Northwestern Hospital adds a new eight-level, 1,420-car parking ramp with 2,400 SF of retail and office space. As the hub, this new ramp will include a bicycle center with showers and an administrative office for Transportation Demand Management staff and a connection to the Greenway. The project also adds two levels to the existing Ramp 6 that includes an additional 445 parking spots and improves bicycle storage to the Freewheel Bike space at the Midtown Greenway. The project mitigates previous parking shortages and accommodates future growth.
