Hospital Expansion
Dunham provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for a true IPD project consisting of a significant remodel and expansion of Mercy Hospital. The remodeling work scope included the ICU, orthopedic patient rooms, laboratory, kitchen, emergency department, pre/post-operative recovery, and a PACU. The 50,000, SF addition had 12 operating rooms and a central sterile processing department, a two-story 350‑stall parking ramp, a new front entry lobby, and an expansion of the existing central utility plant. Chilled beams provide efficient cooling to the operating rooms. This expansion was all constructed and brought online while maintaining hospital operations.
