Critical Access Hospital Expansion & Remodel

Upon completion of the campus master plan, Dunham worked with Lake View Hospital to renovate and expand its hospital to meet changes in use, technology, functionality, and hospital regulations. This multi-phased project has a two-level, 38,000 SF procedure and surgery department and connects the hospital to the adjacent medical clinic. The new surgery department has two procedure rooms, two operating rooms, pre and post-op areas, an inpatient pharmacy, and a physician’s office. The expansion created a new main entry point, centralized the lobby and registration area to maximize efficiency and patient confidentiality, and combined the hospital and clinic labs into one centralized space.

The project also relocated out-patient services to the medical clinic, remodeled the primary care space, added a modern conference room, and created a new commercial kitchen and cafeteria. The design and construction efforts required comprehensive planning and phasing of construction to minimize disruption of hospital patient care. Dunham developed a comprehensive utility master plan and design services for the renovation and expansion.
