Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Tissue Repair

Marshfield Clinic’s Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Tissue Repair is one of seven multi-person hyperbaric chambers in the United States. This single chamber can treat ten patients at once, allowing Marshfield’s experts to heal difficult to close wounds. The center provides 13,000 treatments each year in a safe, comfortable, and effective healing environment. It provides full-spectrum treatment with both a hyperbaric therapy chamber and an operating room within the department.

Dunham provided mechanical and electrical engineering services to design a three-story, 30,000 SF Hyperbaric addition to the East Wing building. The design provides the infrastructure for a future sterile processing department as well as the ability to add two additional stories to the building. The mechanical room provides access and transport lanes for future steam boilers and sterile processing equipment, and modifications to the East Wing chilled water system corrected deficiencies in the system.

Critical Access Hospital Addition – Minocqua

Marshfield Clinic expanded its clinic facility in Minocqua to add a new 72,000 SF critical access hospital. The state-of-the-art facility has 12 private patient bed suites, a birth center with four LDRP suites, a C-section, two postpartum rooms, and a full surgical department with four ORs and three procedure rooms. The project also features an emergency department, imaging, medical laboratory, radiology, and a pharmacy. A 7,500 SF remodel of the existing clinic updated the kitchen and dining center. Dunham provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for this project.

New Critical Access Hospital – Ladysmith

In a true IPD approach, Marshfield Clinic replaced the Ladysmith hospital with a new critical access hospital and rural health clinic. The new 98,700 SF, 16-bed facility will accommodate ten full-time providers. The new hospital includes patient rooms to serve inpatients, prep and recovery space, infusion, and clinic space. The facility features two operating rooms, a procedure room for endoscopy, MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, diagnostic and treatment, a five-bay emergency department, ambulance garage, helipad, rehab services, retail pharmacy, as well as conference and education spaces. Dunham provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for this project.
