Dunham provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the renovation of a 26,000 SF, two-story office building with a single level of below ground parking. The project includes the renovation of the building interior with the addition of offices, conference rooms, workstations, and a cafe. Additionally, our team designed a 30kW photovoltaic array installed on the roof of the building. The system infrastructure has been designed to accommodate a future load of 40kW.

As designers of this project, Dunham performed energy modeling at each phase of design to assess mechanical system options and the related impact on the achievement of a LEED certification. The project utilizes a conventional air cooled DX VAV rooftop unit with hot water reheat and perimeter radiation from condensing boilers. Dunham performed the LEED energy modeling submission which was accepted by GBCI reviewers.

As part of a separate project, our Cx + Energy Services team provided LEED required commissioning services for this project. Our services provided included construction observation, documentation and validation testing of the facilities’ mechanical and lighting control systems. This included verification that filtration meets ASHRAE 52 standards, outdoor air quantities correspond with ASHRAE 62 standards, verification of airflow measuring stations and verification that systems operates according to the design specifications.

The project was awarded a LEED Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council.
