“I started at Dunham as an intern and have been fortunate to build my career here. You know you’re doing something right when people work here their entire careers and never want to leave.”

  1. Influences

From an early age I have enjoyed creative problem solving and have found that fits well with engineering. Whether I am working on a complex design of a generator plan for a hospital or helping figure out the phasing for a complex remodel, engineering has helped drive my creativity.

  2. Partnerships

Our #1 priority is making sure we’re doing a great job for our clients. If we aren’t meeting their needs or supporting them, then nothing else we do matters. I always make sure we’re here for our clients by paying attention to what they need and are looking for. This comes naturally when you create friendships and relationships with clients. You start by building trust and then eventually wanting to work with each other all the time.

  1. Leadership

To be a good leader, you have to really know your people – where they excel and where you can jump in and help them develop their skills, so they can one day become a leader too. One of the ways I help develop leadership skills is by asking my team to explain things to each other. You really need to know what you are talking about in order to be able to teach someone else.

  2. Innovation

When we’re working on a project, we’re always looking ahead at what might come up. We’re looking at new trends in the governmental regulations and new technology. Being innovative in electrical engineering means we’re continually balancing budget and costs with incorporating new approaches and tools in order to meet our clients' needs the best way we can.
